HackUNT 2018 is UNT's very first 36-hour hackathon, a development competition for coders, designers, and anyone with a good idea!
$8,910 in prizes
The First Place team will be awarded up to $2500 in Digital Ocean credit, $500 cash from Tyler Technology, one year of Wolfram | One Personal Edition, one year of Wolfram | Alpha Pro ($400 in value).
The Second Place team will be awarded up to $1250 in Digital Ocean credit and one year of Wolfram | One Personal Edition, one year of Wolfram | Alpha Pro ($400 in value).
The Third Place team will be awarded up to $625 in Digital Ocean credit and one year of Wolfram | One Personal Edition, one year of Wolfram | Alpha Pro ($400 in value).
The winner will receive $500 for the best use of disparate or analytic data to help inform data-based decision making on a real world problem/challenge.
Standard User Security Prize
The winner will receive a $500 scholarship for submitting the best security related application.
Best WebXR Tech
Samsung Internet is offering a $500 Amazon Gift Card and Samsung Gift Packs for the team with the best project made using WebXR.
The winning team will receive a $250 VISA gift card for creating the "Store of the Future." More details at live.unthackathon.com/prizes.
Best Website Submitted on a .Tech Domain
The participant with the best website submitted on a .tech domain will received a $200 Amazon gift voucher.
The winner will recieve a $100 VIP Chiloso Gift Card for the best "Chiloso Serves Alcohol" Social Media post.
Wolfram Award (15)
The top 15 teams, for a maximum of 75 participants, will receive a year of Wolfram|One Personal Edition plus a one-year subscription to Wolfram|Alpha Pro. ($375 value)
Best Utilization of Hardware and Software
UNT's University Information Systems (UIS) wants the best implementation of hardware and software. This prize was made during the judging process due to how impressive some of the social data solutions were.
Best hardware hack
The best hardware hack gets a portable battery and a SparkFun RedBoard for everyone on the team courtesy of MLH!
